Description
- star ruby, yellow diamond, diamond and platinum
Centring on a cabochon star ruby weighing 9.95 carats, surrounded by oval diamonds, brilliant-cut diamonds and yellow diamonds together weighing approximately 5.05 carats, mounted in platinum.
Condition
Colour and Clarity: According to Gübelin report, the star ruby is natural, of Burmese origin, with no indication of heating. Also accompanied by appendix stating that this star ruby displays a sharp and well-centred asterism, combined with a saturated colour. Please refer to the report for details. In our opinion, this gemstone is intense red with just a touch of purple. Upon illumination, it displays a distinct asterism. There are some silky and crystal inclusions under 10x loupe, but not seen to naked eyes. Yellow diamonds in the surround are of vivid saturation. Oval diamonds weighing approximately 0.50 carat each, about E to F colours, mostly VS clarity, except one stone has a tiny chip on girdle. Other diamonds are about similar quality.
Condition: Eternity diamond-set ring shank cannot be re-size and current size is American 6. Platinum ring mount, in mint condition.

Catalogue Note
Ring size: 6
Accompanied by a Gübelin report numbered 0910501, dated 2 November 2009, stating that the 9.95 carat ruby is natural, of Burmese (Myanmar) origin, with no indications of heating; also accompanied by an appendix stating that this star ruby displays a sharp and well-centred asterism, combined with a saturated colour. Such a combination of attributes in a star ruby of this large size and with this quality of asterism is rare.
