Centring on a cabochon star sapphire weighing 48.04 carats, embraced by a pavé-set brilliant-cut diamond support, the diamonds together weighing approximately 1.50 carats, mounted in platinum, signed.
Literature
'Verdura The life and work of a master jeweler' by Patricia Corbett, p. 154.
Condition
Colour and Clarity: According to Gübelin report, the star sapphire is natural, of Burmese origin, with no indication of heating. Please refer to the report for details. In our opinion, the star sapphire is intense blue colour, with very good translucency, showing a distinct and fine six-ray star atop the dome upon illumination. The star sapphire has a nice girdle outline and thickness. Diamonds are about F to G colours, VS clarity. Signed to the shank.
Conditon: Very fine platinum ring mount show wear signs and minor dents to the shank, otherwise in good condition.
