The painting and the wood panel are in good condition, with the latter being free from cracks or warping. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals no indication of retouching. There is a minor rub mark on the upper right but the lacquer layers are otherwise well-preserved. The piece is less yellow and the gold is more metallic in reality.
