Acquired directly from the artist in the 1960s

The painting is in good condition, as is the board, which is clear from cracks or warping. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals small scattered spots of retouching in general, mostly on the lower half of the painting, in the dark areas of the weave and weaving contraption. Flecks of retouching are also found on the tree trunk on the upper left corner, the rocks near the tree, and on the figure (corner of right eye, lower arm, clothes and turban). These are apparent only after UV light inspection. The paint layers are well-preserved. The actual painting is lighter and less red-toned in reality. The background is also not grey but more creamy beige.
