Cette pièce importante en collection provient du célèbre gisement de Solnhofen qui nous est connu pour livrer des fossiles pourvus d'une fossilisation extrêmement fine. Le Coelacanthe reste de tous le plus célèbre des poissons fossiles. Il reste en effet baptisé du vocable de fossile vivant en raison de la découverte de spécimens de Latimeria (Hendrick Goosen, décembre 1938) vivant dans les eaux des Comores. La plaque présente au pourtour des dendrites de Manganèse. Restaurations d'usage mineures sinon rare spécimen complet.
This important piece of the collection comes from the famous Solnhofen deposits known to produce fossils having undergone extremely fine fossilization. The Coelacanth is the most famous of all the fossilized fish. It is called a "living fossil" because of the discovery of specimens of Latimeria (Hendrick Goosen, December 1938) living in the waters of the Comoros. The plate's periphery shows manganese dendrites. Minor restoration work, if not already complete rare specimen.
