a group of 3 photographs, 2 from Polaroid Type 55 negatives, comprising Rail Fence - Tetons; Tetons - Cunningham Cabin; and Detail, Cunningham Cabin, Grand Teton National Park, each mounted on Crescent or Flaxon illustration board, the first with a Carmel studio stamp (BMFA 5) and titled in pencil on the reverse; the second and third signed in ink on the mount, Carmel studio stamps (BMFA 5, 6, and 10) and titled, dated, and annotated in ink on the reverse, 1965 (3)
Condition
'Rail Fence - Teton' - This photograph is in generally excellent condition. In raking light, tiny deposits of original retouching are visible in the sky. In the bottom left print corner, there is a tiny loss of emulsion.
The lower left and right mount corners are bumped. 'TRI-X' is annotated in an unidentified hand in ink in the lower left corner of the mount.
Karen Haas's and Rebecca Senf's book, 'Ansel Adams in the Lane Collection,' publishes the most comprehensive list to date of the studio stamps and labels Adams used throughout his career. Although the authors' assessment of the use dates of stamp 5 on the reverse of the print's mount is 1962 to 1963, a print datd 1965 in Adams's hand was sold in these rooms on 17 October 2006 (Sale 8227, Lot 8).
'Tetons - Cunningham Cabin' - This print, on paper with a surface sheen and mounted on Crescent illustration board, is in generally excellent condition. There is tiny, barely noticeable chipping at the lower left edge.
There is light soiling on the front of the mount and there are minor abrasions on the reverse. There is an annotation, 'L' (underlined) in ink on the reverse.

'Detail, Cunningham Cabin, Grand Teton National Park' - This print, on paper with a surface sheen and mounted on Flaxon illustration board, is in generally excellent condition.
There are small rust-colored deposits of indeterminate nature on the front of the mount in the lower portion, but these do not affect the print.
