Description

  • Harry Callahan
  • PORT HURON
  • gelatin silver print
mounted, signed in pencil on the mount, 1952 (Bunnell, p. 49)

Condition

This early print, mounted to cream-colored board, is in generally excellent condition. Very light silvering along the edges of the print is visible. In high raking light, a few linear surface scratches that do not appear to break the emulsion are visible. The largest scratch is diagonal and measures 2 inches. The reverse of the mount is annotated 'EM 103' and 'Michigan 1952' in an unidentified hand in pencil. There are two 1-inch remains of coated cloth tape along the upper mount edge. When examined in ultraviolet light, this print does not appear to fluoresce.
