Description
- Robert Frank
- WOMAN ON 11TH STREET, NEW YORK
- Gelatin silver
signed in ink in the margin, the photographer's copyright stamp, credit and date in ink, and his 'Robert Frank Archive' stamp, numbers and annotations in pencil, on the reverse, circa 1951, printed circa 1960
Condition
This slightly warm-toned print, on double-weight paper with a surface sheen, is in generally excellent condition. The edges are somewhat rubbed, and the corners are bumped. In raking light, several pin-point indentations, not breaking the emulsion, are visible at the right side of the print near the margin.
On the reverse, the print is lightly soiled, and the periphery is age-darkened. The print has been signed 'Frank' in ink. It has been annotated in pencil with the following: '685' (circled), 'vintage,' 'printed c. 1960' (from which we have ascertained the dating of this print), and 'RFG.40.103.'
