Condition

This print, on double-weight paper with a surface sheen, is in generally excellent condition. In raking light, a very small indentation not breaking the emulsion is visible at the lower left margin edge. It extends into the print 1/8-inch. On the reverse of the print, the annotation 'X-R.F.A.026.7' is in pencil at the upper edge. According to conservator Paul Messier's analysis, the fiber mix of the photographic paper used to make this print is consistent with papers made from the mid-1950s until 1985. The fact that this print does not fluoresce under ultraviolet light suggests that this paper could have been made prior to circa 1960, when manufacturers began adding optical brighteners to photographic papers.
