large-format, mounted to black board, signed with a stylus in the image, the photographer's '821 Ave. of the Americas, New York 1, NY' studio and other stamps and with annotations in pencil and ink and a partial collection label on the reverse, 1954 (Johnson 22:142)

This print, mounted to black board that has been trimmed flush at the left and right sides, and with a 1/8-inch area visible at the top and bottom edges, is in generally good to very good condition. It is rubbed at the edges, resulting in tiny emulsion losses, particularly at the left edge. The upper left corner is creased. Upon examination in raking light, fingerprints and faint scratches that do not break the emulsion are visible, scattered over the surface of the print. The fingerprints are concentrated at the print's edges. On the reverse, there is cloth tape at the periphery, as well as clear cellulose tape at the right edge. The following annotations are on the reverse of the mount: 'Museum Print' (boxed and marked out); 'Z-4,' 'black frame,' 'bleed frame,' bleed black,' and various dimensions. In addition, there is a partial Dan Berley Collection label that has been mostly trimmed off, at the lower edge, and a circular sticker with the number '44' in pink marker. When examined with ultraviolet light, this print appears to fluoresce very slightly.
