(New York: Susan Harder and Orminda Corporation, 1982, a total edition of 60), a portfolio of 10 photographs, each mounted, signed in pencil on the mount, the publisher's stamp and edition '3/50' in pencil on the reverse, with individual wrappers, 1925-39, printed in 1981; together with the printed title, plate list, and colophon. Small folio, white cloth folding box with gilt-lettered leather spine label
Condition
This portfolio was issued in an edition of 50, plus 10 copies for the photographer and publisher. The small prints, laid on larger thin mounts, evoke Kertész's preferred method of presentation early in his career. The plates, plate list, colophon, and clamshell box are all in generally excellent condition. The clamshell box is lightly rubbed. The plates have been matted, and the individual wrappers are housed in the portfolio case.
The photographs are as follows:
Chez Mondrian, Paris, 1926
Eiffel Tower, Paris, 1929
Distortion No. 40, Paris, 1933
Satiric Dancer, Paris, 1926
Stairs of Montmartre, Paris, 1925
Glasses and Pipe, Paris, 1926
Fork, Paris, 1928
Melancholic Tulip, New York, 1939
Carrefour, Blois, 1930
Colette, Paris, 1930
