Condition
The plates, listed below, are in generally excellent condition, except as noted. Each print is matted and hinged on the reverse along the upper edge to the mat.
Tangier, 1952
Ceiling with Light Bulb, ca. 1952
Central Park, 1950
Untitled (Inside of an Old Garage), ca. 1949
Quiet House (Black Mountain College), ca. 1949
Sneakers, 1950
Bathroom Window (Broadway Studio), ca. 1961 - In the upper left corner of the image, there is a small crease (½-in.) that does not break the emulsion.
Laundry - New York City, late 1950s - In the upper right quadrant, there is a 5-in. soft diagonal crease that does not break the emulsion.
Car and Cover, ca. 1951
Billboard (Stalin), 1953
Car with Tarpaulin, 1951 - In the upper left corner of the print, there is a one-inch soft crease that extends ½-in. into the image. This does not effect the image and does not break the emulsion. In the window area, there is a pin-point-sized impression, also not breaking the emulsion.
Stop, 1951
The clamshell box is in generally excellent condition. There are a few stray gray marks on the cover. The photograph on the cover is lifting at the corners, and there is minor edge chipping and a small loss of emulsion near the sitter's waist. The title/colophon/plate list is inscribed 'For Marc - Bob Rauschenberg' in pencil. There is very light soiling on the title page, and there is a long, soft vertical crease near the right edge.
