Catalogue Note

"And then in 1951, he discovers Klee, this deep affinity with a world's passer-by working on the form of dream itself to turn it into the matter of image. Zao Wou-Ki sharpens his eye. He dismantles the world. The dialogue between drawing and color goes on but in another universe.... The answer to his searches seems to be there, within his reach: color and line jointly leading to the absolute."[1]
