Colour: The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the overall tonality is deeper and richer in the original. The catalogue illusration fails to convey fully the rich surface texture of the background and the gold leaf apparent in the original. Condition: This works is in very good condition. There is a tiny canvas protrusion to the top pf the green oval beneath the top edge. There are traces of extremely light transparent drip marks in the top left quadrant and in a few isolated places to the lower right qaudrant, and a few further scattered unobtrusive pinprick-sized media accretions elsewhere, notably to the top left quadrant. There appear to be a few tiny losses to the gold leaf in places, inherent to the artist's choice of media. No restoration is apparent under ultraviolet light.
