Condition
This painting is in excellent condition. The commercially prepared linen is unlined, and it is taut and planar on an 8-member stretcher. The paint layer is structurally sound and stable. There is an area of drying cracks in the reddish brown and dark blue at center but these do not exhibit any insecurity. Under Ultraviolet light, there is some well-matched inpainting in watercolor related to drying craquelure, located 11-16 ½ in. up from the bottom edge and 19 inches from the left edge. The canvas is framed in a metal strip frame, colored brown, with a float in the same color brown, under Plexiglas.
