12mo (6 5/8  x 4 in.; 167 x 102 mm).  Title-page printed in red and blue with wood-engraved holly vignette, half-title printed in blue, handcolored etched frontispiece and 3 handcolored etched plates after and by John Leech, 4 wood-engraved text illustrations after Leech by J. W. Linton, terminal leaf of publisher's ads ("Works of Mr. Charles Dickens"); half-title lightly browned, occasional minor soiling.  Publisher's cinammon-brown rib-grained cloth, covers blocked in blind with decorative holly and ivy border, upper cover and spine gilt with author and title within holly wreath, green-coated endpapers, all edges gilt; spine and inner hinges skillfully renewed with original backstrip laid down, binding with some wear and fading, endpapers rubbed. quarter green morocco clamshell case, spine gilt in 6 compartments.
