The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com , an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. This painting has not been cleaned for some time. The panel is slightly curved but un-reinforced on the reverse. The stability of the center and right side seems to be healthy. In the shoulder and in the dress above the right wrist there have been some areas of instability. The picture seems quite dirty but beneath this dirt layer the paint layer seems to be fairly healthy. The green background may not be as original as the remainder of the painting and there are retouches in the upper chest and neck on the left side.
