Description
- Bartolomeo Schedoni
- Study of a Soldier
- oil on textured paper, backed with a second sheet of paper, laid on linen, unframed
Condition
The paper has buckled in places, most notably along the upper left edge and in the lower right corner. There is a repaired tear that runs nearly vertically from the lower right edge up into the bottom of the man's helmet. There is slight bubbling in the paper in places, but the surface appears stable and the work presents itself well and can be hung as is.

Catalogue Note
There is also an image on the reverse (illustrated in the catalogue), which seems to depict a young man or woman in three quarters profile, wearing a cap. This image is damaged and appears to have been left incomplete. It is executed on the same support as the study of the soldier: paper, backed with a second sheet of paper, which has been laid onto linen.
