Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a F.P. Journe Certificate and a presentation box with an outer card box.

F.P. Journe unveiled his first collection at the Basel Fair in 1999, espousing the spirit of "Invenit et Fecit" Latin for "I invented it".  The Tourbillon Souverain was the first watch Journe ever created himself.  This nove🐼l timepiece offered the exclusive combination of a wristwatch with tourbillon and constant-force device.  Despite the model's immediate success, Journe decided to cease production in 2003 in order to maintain exclusivity and encourage his own creativity.

Thus, the Tourbillon Souverain à seconde morte was born.  A more sophist♔icated version of its predecessor, it includes a deadbeat seconds device, which stems from the fact that the hand remains still before the second 🦄has elapsed.  In 2004, the Tourbillon Souverain à seconde morte was awarded the esteemed 'Aiguilled'or' from the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix.

The present lot was produced in a special limited edition of only 5 pieces for the first anniversary of the F. P. Journe Hong Kong boutique in 2007 and is numbered 1.  Housed within an impressive 40 mm titanium case, with Ruthenium dial and red lettering, this exclusively numbered and eleganღtly styled timepiece is exceptionally rare and highly collectable for patrons of independent horology.
