Condition

Canvas is unlined. There are thin horizontal lines of stable cracking, mostly restricted to the upper area of the drapery in the composition, but also running along the area corresponding to the stretcher bar at the center of the canvas. The top right corner of the canvas is mildly buckled. Surface is slightly dirty. The artist's pinholes are visible: one at top left corner, two at top right corner, one at center left, one at center right, one at bottom left corner and one at bottom right corner. There appears to be some frame abrasion along the bottom left and center edge and a minor fleck of loss at the extreme top right edge, just below the corner. Under UV light: no signs of inpainting are apparent. Overall the work is in very good condition.
