Comprising an 18 karat gold pill box, the top surmounted by a light house set with calibré-cut emeralds and round rubies, gross weight approximately 31 dwts., signed Van Cleef & Arpels, Paris, numbered 56121 and 14581; an 18 karat gold basketweave compact, the thumbpiece set with calibré-cut emeralds, the interior fitted with a mirror and compartment for powder, gross weight approximately 93 dwts., signed Van Cleef & Arpels, NY, numbered 10751; a 14 karat gold cigarette case, gross weight approximately 63 dwts., signed Charlton & Co., not illustrated; and an 18 karat gold ashtray, gross weight approximately 16 dwts., signed Cartier, Paris, numbered 06309, maker's mark, French assay mark.
Condition
Approximate dimensions: Cigarrette case (3¾ x 2¾ x ¾ in.), compact (3 x 2¼ x ¼ in.), pillbox (1½ x 1 x ½ in.) and ashtray (2¼ dia x ¼ in. high). All items with light surface scratches and minor nicks due to gentle wear. Gold has a warm patina and some oxidation. Colored stones on the pillbox are chipped and heavily abraded. Overall condition good.
