Description

  • platinum, diamond, ring
The old European-cut diamond weighing approximately 11.40 carats, the mounting set throughout with small old European-cut and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 1.15 carats, size 7.

Condition

The old European-cut diamond approximately N-P (faint blue fluorescence) color and VS - SI clarity due to a cleavage plane partially hidden underneath a prong. Additionally set with 76 smaller old European-cut and single-cut diamonds G-H color and VS clarity. Nice detail in workmanship and crisp engraving throughout the gallery, shoulders and shank. Due to continuous engraving design on shank, this piece would have to be sized by a very skilled jeweler.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
