Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a copy of Boucheron: Capturing the Sparkle, by Patrick Wald Lasowski and Anne-Marie Clais, 2005.  This unique Boucheron design is illustrated on pages 176-177 and described on page 206.

Since its inception in 1858, Boucheron has ranked among the finest of French jewelry houses. Its innovative designs and unsurpassed craftsmanship have made it a favorite jeweler of royalty and society alike.

The suite offered here is one-of-a-kind and gives testament to Boucheron's ingenuity. It is set with numerous diamond crystals of perfect octahedral form, extremely difficult to find in nature, in fancy colors ranging from champagne to rich cognac. Each crystal has been simply polished to maintain its shape, the edges cut into 'star beams.' The graceful collet mounting takes full advantage of crystal's double pyramid form and brilliance. The overall effect is one of a sky full of shimmering stars with the pendants cascading as comets' tails.
