The triple-strand necklace composed of natural pearls, the center strand alternating with diamond beads weighing approximately 55.00 carats, accented by diamond openwork plaques set with old European-cut and single-cut diamonds, the tassel composed of natural pearl fringes accented by diamond briolettes weighing approximately 11.00 carats, capped by old European-cut and single-cut diamonds, length 35 inches, signed Chaumet, partial maker's mark, French assay marks.

The pearls are creamy white with good luster and are very well matched. They are slightly out of round and relatively free of blemishes, some normal skin wrinkling when viewed under magnification. The diamonds in the links and pendant are approximately G-H color and VS-I clarity. The necklace is also strung with 113 diamond beads and 17 briolette diamonds on the ends of the fringe that were later added. Very good condition. There is a partial maker's mark for Chaumet on the rim of the left tassel attachment but the piece is not signed Chaumet and has been modified from its original form by the addition of the diamond beads and briolettes.
