Literature
Temenos, No. 8, London 1987, pp.164-165.
Condition
Original canvas.
There are isolated areas of craquelure, paint separation and paint shrinkage to all four quadrants, including spots where the paint has lifted, mainly in the beige pigments. There is some frame abrasion and frame paint transfer along the left edge. The surface is dirty with isolated specks of staining and may benefit from a light clean.
Ultraviolet light reveals a few small specks of fluorescence to the background above the yellow flowers, altough this does not appear to be retouching. Other areas fluoresce which correspond to the aforementioned specks of staining or the artist's pigments.
Held in a painted plaster frame.
