Catalogue Note
In 1958, the Hanover Gallery commissioned the founder Susse Freres, Paris, to cast Robot in an edition of six, each signed and numbered. There are therefore 6 editioned versions in existence, plus the present work which is unique, and it was these cast editions which were exhibited at the Hanover Gallery in London in 1958 and at the Venice Biennale in 1960.
