Condition
Original canvas. Tape has been applied along the outer edges.
There are some minor surface abrasions in each corner. There is a small, faint line of craquelure to the right of the brown paint extending down from the centre of the top edge. There is a small protrusion in the bottom right corner where something has become trapped between stretcher and canvas; otherwise the work appears in good overall condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals areas of fluoresence throughout the background of the picture but these appear to be the workings of the artist.
Held in a simple wooden box frame with a gilt border.
