Condition

Dirt has gathered in some of the crevices and the surface is dusty. There are a few specks of verdigris to the base, including a spot beneath the figure's stomach. There are a few spots and scuffs to the patination where the gold of the bronze is visible, mainly to raised areas on the base, to the figure's raised elbow, head, stomach and legs, and a spot just to the right of the Susse Fondeur inscription. Otherwise the sculpture is in good overall condition. Please telephone the department on 020 7293 6242 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
