Condition
The catalogue illustrations are too red in tone. Both supports are single flat uncradled panels bevelled on all four edges. Both paintings have been cleaned in the past are in beautiful condition. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals only very few and very minor local spot retouchings and some strengthening to the backgrounds above the arm of the fishwife and to the stone wall of the poultry seller. The varnish has faded a little and might benefit from refreshing.
Offered with ebonised Dutch style wood frame with ripple mouldings in very good condition.
