The painting is on paper, which has been laid on board. The paint surface is dirty but the details of the work seem well-preserved. No major damages to the work are apparent though there is a very small restored knock at the centre of the lower stretch of the painting. Inspection under UV light reveals extensive retouchings to the sky but just a handful of scattered spot retouchings and strengthenings to the foreground, where inspection is slightly impeded by a reflective varnish. Offered in an ornate gilt wood and plaster frame in good condition with a few minor knocks.
