STRUCTURE The canvas has been lined. PAINT SURFACE The painting appears to be in good condition, with no apparent damage or loss of paint. ULTRAVIOLET Examination under ultraviolet light reveals retouching in the sitter's arms as well as further scattered minor retouching, some in the sitter's forehead, though ,mostly in the lower section of the canvas.
