Condition

The prints are in generally excellent condition, with some very light silvering on a few prints. This is most noticeable on the periphery of Monolith, Face of Half Dome, particularly in the upper left quadrant. This is only visible upon close examination in raking light. When examined very closely in raking light, there is a very faint raised area or soft crease near the upper right edge. This does not affect the mount, so was likely present in the print before mounting, or occurred during the mounting process. This is not visible from normal viewing distance. The mounts and are slightly yellowed, especially along the edges, due to humidity. The lower left edges of the mounts bear discoloured water stains; this is most noticeable on plates 13 through 16. The portfolio case has some water damage along the bottom edge. There is a slight musty odor attendant to the photographs and portfolio case. As stated, there are two title sheets, one of which is slightly yellowed. The portfolio has been purchased in the 1960s by the present owner and has remained in the family collection since.
