Condition

These photographs are in generally excellent condition, except where noted below. In raking light, a few tiny deposits of original retouching are visible on some of the prints. There is some very minor soiling and impressions in the margin corner of some prints from the photo corners on the mats. On some prints, the margin edges are ever-so-lightly rubbed with a few tiny losses; this does not affect the images themselves. The plates are as follows: Snow, Backyards New York City 1914 Abstraction, Porch Shadows Connecticut 1915 - There is a small tan-colored deposit of indeterminate nature on the lower margin edge of the print. Jug and Fruit, Connecticut 1915 Rebecca, New York City 1922 Toadstool and Grasses, Georgetown, Maine 1928 - Visible in raking light is a tiny pinpoint impression in the upper portion of the image. There is faint soiling of indeterminate nature in the right margin of the print. Torso, Taos, New Mexico 1930 Akeley Motion Picture Camera, New York City 1923 - In raking light, there are a few pinpoint impressions visible in the lower and center portion of the image. Side Porch, Vermont 1947 Susan Thompson, Cape Split, Maine 1945 White Horse, Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico 1932 Iris Facing the Winter, Orgeval 1973 - Very faint soiling is visible along the upper margin edge. The printed materials and clamshell box are in generally excellent condition. The printed acknowledgements are signed by Strand in blue ink, and numbered '32' in an unidentified hand in black ink.
