with black ink borders, mounted, signed in pencil on the mount, the 'A Margaret Bourke-White Photograph' stamp and a label with typed title on the reverse, framed, 1935
Provenance
Acquired from Jane Corkin Gallery, Toronto, 1999
Condition
This early, warm-toned print, on double-weight paper with an eggshell texture and matte surface, is in generally very good to excellent condition. Along the upper edge of the image is a 1/4-inch tear. Upon close examination, a tiny loss and deposit of original retouching are visible on the sitter's hand. There is minor edge wear.
The print is mounted to a thin cafe-au-lait-colored board. The mount edges are appropriately age-darkened, and the corners are worn. The front and reverse of the mount are somewhat soiled.
On the reverse of the frame, there is a Jane Corkin Gallery, Toronto, label, with typed credit, title, date, and other notations.
