Condition
These photographs are in generally excellent condition. In raking light, a few tiny deposits of original retouching are visible on some of the prints. The corners of some of the prints are bumped, and there are very minor areas of edge rippling. The photographs are as follows:
Les Enfants de la Place Hebert, 1957
Les Glaneurs de Charbon, 1945
La Concierge aux Lunettes, 1945 - There is a one-inch scratch at the bottom left of the print that does not appear to break the emulsion.
L'Enfer, 1952 - There is a small handling crease near the lower edge of the image.
Midi a la Fonderie Rudier, 1949
Picasso et Françoise Gilot, 1952
Les Animaux Supérieurs, 1954
There are occasional stray pen marks on the reverse of the prints.
These images are reproduced in 'Three Seconds from Eternity,' pp. 46, 81, and 143; 'Doisneau Paris,' pp. 189 and 565; and 'Retrospective,' pl. 67.
