"La nouvelle du suicide de Philippine, une amie adolescente, est arrivé inopinément le jour où Goldin inaugurait la rétrospective I'll Be Your Mirror, au Winterthur Museum en Suisse. Cet après-midi là, sous l'effet d'un curieux phénomène naturel, le ciel orageux est devenu rouge sang. Cette photo, conçue comme un hommage à son amie décédée, est un parfait exemple de la façon dont la photographie de paysage revêt parfois de subtiles significations intimes et un fort contenu émotionnel et commémoratif."
