one painted with named views of Weilburg and Sayn within square gilt frames, the cup on three gilt paw feet with gilt bird handle, gilt crowned FR monogram, the other, a mourning cup and saucer, the cup painted with a silhouette portrait of Frederick William, Prince of Nassau-Weilburg (1768-1816) and gilt inscription Die Liebe ist unster blich wie die Seele, the saucer with the dates of his birth and death and a pictogram [tempus fugit] within a circular gilt frame and captioned Wiedersehen, stencilled crowned FR monogram

Provenance

Henriette Princess of Nassau Weilburg (1797-1829) who married Archduke Karl of Austria, Duke of Teschen (1771-1847) in 1815.
Their eldest son Archduke Albrecht of Austria (1817-1895)
Archduke Albrecht's adopted son, Archduke Friedrich of Austria (1856-1936), who married Princess Isabella of Croÿ (1856-1931).
Thence by descent.
