- 46cm barrel
with tapering barrel signed in gilt letters on either side of a long sighting flat and cut with micro-groove rifling, the underside of the breech chiselled with a flaming grenade in low relief, engraved breech tang decorated with neo classical ornament, engraved lock signed in a gold-lined recess, decorated with the crowned Royal Arms of France on the tail and fitted with engraved hammer, highly figured walnut three-quarter stock, take-down butt with carved raised cheek piece, finely engraved steel mounts comprising side-plate formed as a pair of water fowl, butt-plate decorated with neo classical ornament incorporating a pair of rams' heads, silver escutcheon engraved with the owner's arms on an Imperial double eagle and beneath the Imperial crown and original ivory-tipped ramrod (sling swivels missing)
