Ferdinand, Archduke of Austria, Duke of Modena: The miniature has been well preserved. There has been some minor fading to some of the pigments and there is occasional evidence of surface dirt. The miniature is not held in its original frame. Francesco, Duke of Modena, Archduke of Austria-Este: The colours in this miniature have remained strong. Located in the lower right hand section of the composition is a small area of skillful restoration. The frame is a little worn. Ludovika, Archduchess of Austria-Este, Empress of Austria: The miniature has been well preserved and the colours remain fresh and strong. The frame is a little worn.
