Description
- A series of eight portraits of horses from the stables of Reichsgraf Franz Caspar von Hillesheim (1673 - 1748)
- all oil on canvas, two laid on panel
Condition
Five canvases are relined, two are laid on board and one is unlined.
The paint surfaces are secure on each of the paintings, and all are under a fairly yellowed varnish. Three of the paintings have a few surface scuff marks on them but otherwise no damages are visible on the paintings.
Inspection under UV light reveals retouchings on all paintings, but these are minimal and generally scattered.
The set come in matching wood frames and as such are ready to hang.
