Description

  • crowned wheel mark in underglaze blue

  • 16.5cm., 6½in.
modelled by Laurentius Russinger, as a rectangular rococo base, with a quill tray with lattice-work at the front, and an inset square ink-well and pounce-pot at the back, two putti on each side holding candleholders in the form of a cornucopiae, and a central putto leaning through scroll-work pouring flowers from a cornucopia into the wafer tray, overall painted with flower sprays and picked out in puce, turqoise and gilding (some restoration)

Condition

Inkwell and pounce with restoration to the top edge and bird-finial on cover, the right cupid with restoration to his left arm and cornucopia, the left cupid with restoration to his left foot, restoration to extremities of the scroll-work
