in good original condition, stained, minor losses and rubbing to the painted and gilded decoration commensurate with age and use. There is no sign of previous paint and the general patination is very good. There are signs of old worm, the interior looks as if it has been treated. There are some chips and fragmenting to protruding mouldings. This is very much in 'unrestored' condition and has a lovely feel about it. On the faux-marble top there is a square outline probably from a vase, the loss of paint to this outline shows wood underneath, this damage happened a long time ago.
