The flat, stable supports seems to consist of a single horizontal panel, which is support to the reverse by a simple cradle, similar to a canvas stretcher. The paint surface is secure and appears to be in good condition if a little thin, under a thick, glossy varnish. Discoloured retouching work is evident to the naked eye along three old dents/damages in the upper half of the painting, most noticeably in the rafters upper left. These retouchings are confirmed under UV light which also reveals further, fairly extensive scattered retouchings throughout the painting. Offered in a gilt and stained wood frame in fairly good condition.
