- walnut wood
with a later caned back and seat and later tooled leather cushion with the coat of arms of the Counts Schaffgotsch

Provenance: purchased from Le Bilboquet, Paris, 15th February 1971
Etienne Meunier received master in 1732.
Condition
This elegant chair has undergone some restoration commensruate with its age and use. The surface has undergone a deep clean. There is evidence of old worm and some black marks. Filler has been used to plug peg and screw holes. The cane is later and the two splats behind this new cane on the back of the chair are replacements. One of the scrolled foliate carved seat rails has been re-tipped. The legs have been re-tipped. The seat has been fixed into place with later screws and a small block. Some of the joins on this peice have been filled and there are seperations at some of these points. The leather arms rests are replaced and in very good order. The seat cushion is also in good order.
