- wood, lacquer, mother of pearl
- Width 43cm, 17 in
the lid inlaid with freemasonry symbols including masonry tools, a beehive, an altar, the Allseeing Eye, a winged hourglass and clasped hands, the sides inlaid and lacquered with sprays of rose and iris among other flowers, aventurine lacquer lining
Provenance
The box is labelled 'Henriette' for Archduchess Henriette of Austria (1883-1956).
Condition
Right hand side panel has become detached. Otherwise very minor wear, scratching and scrapes.
