The bottom interior of the vase with some light surface soiling and minor surface pitting consistent with age and gentle use. The interior of the vase is subtly iridized, more intensely along the upper third region of the vase, imparting the vase with great luminosity and color. A beautiful example displaying impressive scale, bold painterly decoration and strong color. The decoration and coloration of this vase show far greater subtleties, especially in the flower blossoms, than seen in the catalogue illustration which is slightly oversaturated.
