Condition
The canvas has been relined. Apart from a handful of scattered old retouchings visible under UV light, and some fine hairline craquelure visible under close inspection, notably below and to the right of the globe, overall this work is in good original condition.
Held in a decorative gold-painted wood and plaster frame.
The varnish is very slightly yellower in reality, though this aside the catalogue illustration is overall accurate.
