The first brooch centered by an old European-cut diamond weighing approximately 1.65 carats, accented by numerous old mine-cut diamonds weighing approximately 3.60 carats, mounted in gold and silver, with French import marks; with removable pendant hook and pendant bail; the second brooch centered by a button-shaped pearl measuring approximately 10.5 by 9.5 mm, accented by numerous old mine-cut diamonds weighing approximately 3.50 carats; with removable brooch fitting.
Condition
Both brooches in good condition. Both heavily tarnished throughout, as is typical with pieces of this age. One brooch centered by a diamond, the pendant bail is set with old mine and round-cut diamonds weighing approximately .20 carat and is removable. Diamonds approximately G-J color (some with a brownish tint), predominantly SI clarity. The second brooch centered by a pearl with gray body color, pinkish and brown overtones, with wrinkling and crazing throughout the skin; waxy to good luster. Diamonds approximately I-L color (some with a brownish tint) and SI clarity.
