• cal. 215 circular nickel lever movement stamped with the seal of Geneva, 18 jewels, free-sprung Gyromax balance • champagne matte dial, applied yellow gold Roman numerals, outer minutes track, rectangular subsidiary seconds • 18k yellow gold flared rectangular case, concave sides, downturned lugs with flat bases, commemorative engraving to the curved snap back • case, dial and movement signed • with an 18k yellow gold Patek Philippe buckle
Condition
Manual winding movement running while cataloguing, however it is recommended to get service for accurate time keeping. Dial is nice and clean, hands are slightly discolored. Case and buckle with scuffs from normal wear and it is our opinion that the case has been gently repolished. **The strap of this wristwatch is made from an endangered species, please refer to important notices for further information**.

With an Extract from the Archives confirming production in 1997 and sale on July 30th, 1997.
The reference 5550J Pagoda was made in a limited edition of 1100 examples to celebrate the inauguration of Patek Philippe's new Geneva watchmaking facilities in 1997. Inspired by the 1940s ref.2441 'Eiffel Tower' the model was released in an edition of yellow, pink and white gold as well as platinum with a matching ladies version, ref.4900 (see lot 2302). The dyes and casts used to make the models were all destroyed ensuring the edition will never be duplicated.
