• cal. 1868 manual winding finely engraved gilt lever movement, 76 jewels, mono-metallic compensation balance within anti-magnetic one-minute tourbillon carriage • silvered dial, Roman numerals, blued steel feuille hands, sunken engine-turned subsidiary dials indicating 30-minute register combined with aperture for moon-phases, date, month in German combined with 12-hour register and constant seconds combined with day, aperture for digital year display • 18k yellow gold oversize circular case, sloped bezel, onyx-set crown, minute repeater activated by a slide in the band, split-seconds chronograph mechanism operated by crown, sapphire crystal display back • case, dial and movement signed • with an 18k yellow gold IWC buckle

Condition

Manual winding movement running, minute repeating, perpetual calendar, split second chronograph, tourbillon functions all fully operational while cataloguing. Dial looks nice and clean. Case and buckle with minor scuffs from light wear only, hallmarks are clear with no sign of repolishing. Movement numbered 2500016, case numbered 2537022 and 12/125. IWC launched the Grand Complication Il Destriero Scafusia for the company’s 125th anniversary in 1993 as the most complicated wristwatch in the world. Released in a numbered limited edition of 125 examples over 6 💎years in yellow gold, pink gold and platinum the last model was completed on December 31st, 1999. Each watch featured a hand-engraved and highly decorative movement containing 750 parts and the case used a patented repeater slide to protect the movement from dust and moisture.
